Gremolata Update 001
Toronto: October 21, 2004

Gremolata isn't sure exactly when the $10 bottle of wine at the LCBO became the $15 bottle of wine, or when it will conclusively climb to $20. But we are very glad that every Vintages release includes a few excellent table wines in the $15 range and Mas Janeil 2001, at $15.95, is no exception.

Featured in the October 9 release, this Lurton Brothers wine is available throughout the GTA and Ontario. Use it's Vintages/LCBO product number 992800 to search for stores carrying it in stock at: http://lcbo.com/ or contact Gremolata and we'll find the nearest spot you can buy it.

Mas Janeil is a 60% Grenache/%40 Carignan Côtes-du-Roussillon, which Natalie MacLean describes as "Red fruit with cedar notes, almost Rhône-like. Warm finish. Yum." She gives it an 88 out of 100. Gremolata thinks that it could be given a higher rating, given its price point.

This is not the first release it has been featured in, and despite the Lurton Borthers' reputation for making high value wines from around the world, it won't likely stay at this great price, when it returns.
