This has been a fantastic week for food and wine in Southern Ontario. On Tuesday famous caterers Daniel et Daniel held an unprecedented thank you party for 700 of their clients at the Design Exchange in celebration of their 25th year in business. Toques off to them for rather un-Torontonian generosity. Then on Wednesday, Paul Finkelstein and his students at Stratford’s Northwestern Secondary School hosted a Youth Slow Food Symposium, with guests as impressive as Jamie Kennedy, Michael Stadtlander, Anthony John, Monforte's Ruth Klahsen and Christine Cushing (see our next update for more). Finally, Dick Snyder’s long awaited City Bites magazine launched on Thursday, with no less than two articles featuring our very own Cheese Guru, Andy Shay. Things are looking good! - Malcolm Jolley, PublisherGremolata People:

(New) Fine Wine:
Gremolata was delighted recently to discover that the 2003 Goats do Roam Red has been picked up by the LCBO's Vintages Essentials program. This means that "GdR" will be easier than ever to find. More good news about a wine that we profiled in the Fall has returned to Vintages. Look for the Lurton Brother's fantastic value Mas Janeil 2001 at $15.95 in the next few weeks.
