Fresh Food
The Cheese Boutique
is offering the public a chance to sample their house imported fresh truffles for free next weekend, February 12 and 13. As chronicled previously in Gremolata, the Cheese Boutique flies in their own black and white truffles and offers them at the best price in the city. If ever there was an excuse to visit this temple of gastronomy, this is it. Magnolia on College Street is currently stocking Sicilian Blood Oranges. Wonderfully sweet and tart these fruit offer the perfect tonic to the February blahs.
Fine Wine

This pedigreed pair is a perfect match for a romantic dinner for two (for instance on the 14th.)...[more].

Released on January 22nd, the 2002 Sedàra from Tenuta di Donnafugata is a great big Nero d'Avola (LCBO# 900274) that has slipped by most of the mainstream critics' picks. Too bad, because it's a good value for $14.95. Perfect for order-in pizza, or a gorgonzola cheese burger, etc. Well stocked throughout the city.
