Passionate about food and well-being, Cynthia is actively involved in a number of food related endeavors. She is a personal chef and co-founder of The Spice Sisters, a personal chef services business in Toronto. Cynthia is also a food writer and contributes to a number of lifestyle publications and media.
Cynthia is a member of The Canadian Personal Chef Alliance, Women’s Culinary Network and Culinary Historians of Ontario. Cynthia currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Association of Food Banks, is Treasurer for Slow Food in Prince Edward County, Fundraising Committee for FoodShare and a member of the Steering committee for the newly launched Social Venture Exchange in Toronto. She is an advocate for Food Security issues in the province.
She is also a partner of Petersford Consulting Group Inc., specializing in Corporate Communications, Strategic Planning and Fund Development. With more than 25 years experience, Cynthia has helped dozens of organizations and charities improve their brand and bottom line. Prior to Petersford, she held senior executive positions at a number of prominent organizations, including Foresters, YMCA of Greater Toronto and Goodwill Industries.
Cynthia cherishes both her “County” and city life with her husband Brian Ford. Her love for local, sustainable seasonal cuisine and a “back to basics” lifestyle can be found first hand at her heritage farmhouse - Willow Hill, in Hillier Township, Prince Edward County. She enjoys growing organic vegetables, cooking on her Pioneer Maid wood oven and entertaining many friends and family.
