Lillet is the quintessential French apero (i.e. aperitif) from Bordeaux. Unless designated 'Lillet Rouge', it's made from selected white grapes and has a tangy but sweet taste. Traditionally served on the rocks, with a slice of orange - sometimes mixed with fizzy mineral water.
